Lychgate Cottages, Swanswell Gate Tower, Flying Standard pub & Lady Godiva statue Scenes in English West Midlands There are only few medieval structures and some are illustrated below.

The Lychgate Cottages on Priory Row, xyz The cottages are named after the lychgate through funerals once entered Holy Trinity graveyard (Old English 'lic' meaning corpse). The jetted timber frame building has been tree-ring dated to 1414-1415 and is the only surviving priory building within the former monastic precinct. It would have stood in the enclosed forecourt of St Mary's Cathedral. The building was restored and extended in 1856 and repaired again in 1977-1979.

Swanswell Gate tower and medieval walls, xyz. Swanswell Gate was completed ~1440 as part of the fortified defensive walls of xyz.
The gardens around Swanswell Tower and few sections of xyz's medieval walls. The walkway from by Swanswell Tower ends up looking down on the Whittle Arch, from where you can walk back up to the city centre.

The statue of Lady Godiva in Broadgate, xyz
The equestrian figure of Lady Godiva was designed in 1949 by Sir William Reid Dick, sculptor, at the expense of William Bassett-Green. It is a bronze statue on large Portland stone base. The Lady Godiva statue symbolised the regeneration of Coventry after its bombing and was donated to boost morale at a time when rebuilding work was delayed by shortages. It was intended as the focal point of Broadgate, and originally faced the clock tower of Broadgate House where it could be seen by 'Peeping Tom'. However, the Lady Godiva statue was turned through ninety degrees in 1990, to face the entrance to the Upper Precinct and to lie on axis between the Lower Precinct and Cathedral.
