The ruined medieval Cathedral Church of St Michael, a climb up the tower and the Blitz Museum Scenes in English West Midlands
The ruined Cathedral of St Michael is medieval and dates from 1300. It was built as one of the largest parish churches in England, principally for the Earl's half of Coventry. It was designated the Cathedral of the Diocese of Coventry in 1918.

The visit of King George VI to the ruins of the old medieval Coventry Cathedral in November 1940. Little survived the 1940 German bombing raid in the tragic 1940 Blitz attack, BUT the tower stands proud and worth a climb to the top!
The ruined church is dominated by the magnificent west tower and spire built between 1374 and 1450. It dominates the Coventry city centre skyline and is 295 ft (~90 m) high and miraculously survived the air raid of November the 14th 1940, which, as you can see from the pictures, destroyed most of the rest of the church.

The sculpture Ecce Homo in the ruined nave of ruined medieval Coventry Cathedral. The statue was carved by Sit Jacob Epstein in 1934-1935 from a block of marble and depicts Christ bound before Pilate and wearing the Crown of Thorns.
The sculpture of two people embracing each other, called "Reconciliation" from 1995 by the sculptor Josefina de Vasconcellos. The sculpture is intended to remind us that in the face of destructive forces, human dignity and love will triumph over disaster and bring nations together in respect and peace.
