A sculpture near the entrance - one of many to be seen at Newby Hall. The Sculpture Walk A splendidly laid out 'sculpture park' with lovely paths to walk along and a useful guide provided - the guidebook list details of all the sculptures and all are neatly numbered and titled plus artist names in situ.

56. 'Waiting for the Tide to Turn' by Reece Ingram - Carrara marble Lucy Kinsella's Art Exhibition In the cafe extension room is a display of the work of the artist Lucy Kinsella.
After graduating Lucy was interested in developing her skills as an animal sculptor and her drawings (in charcoal) are quite stunning.
Zimbabwean Sculpture Exhibition Matombo - Spirit of Sculpture Dudzai Mushawepwere and Matthew Nakawhale have flown in from Zimbabwe to join this exhibition and also give lessons in sculpting raw stone. The exhibition of Zimbabwean art is the produce of many talented artist and their use of stone (in particular) and metal is quite remarkable. The photographs cannot reproduce the beauty and power of these objects, but I hope they inspire people to come and see this wonderful exhibition of African sculptures.
