Newby Hall is south-east of Ripon, about 20 miles north of York. The Newby Hall Gardens were created by the resident Compton family between 1921 and 1977 which run down from the house to the River Ure.

You can go on the barge YOREDALE for a trip on the beautiful quiet flowing River Ure.

The is a super narrow gauge steam railway and the trains are hauled by the beautifully modelled LMS 6100 ROYAL SCOT

Fantastic flower colours in the Water Garden.

Time for a break in the picnic area by the car park.

Its the steam train again! The steam locomotive hauls its passenger train of tourists near the Adventure Play Area (see two pictures below)

A great 'Adventure Play Area' for children - kids get bored with flowers eventually!

An essential stop at the 'Cafe' - albeit called 'The Garden Restaurant'

A Eucalyptus Tree I think?
