14. The Mosquėe de Paris - Institut Musulman Mosque (Grand Mosque)
The grand entrance to the Mosque de Paris, built in the 1920's.
The geometry and beauty of the tiling and stonework of the mosque is wonderful and a complete contrast in style to most Paris architecture.
The gardens were undergoing renovation at the time of our visit but its not difficult to imagine how beautiful the gardens will look in the future.
The Mosquee de Paris has delightfully decoratively coloured cafe-tearoom where delicious sweet things with tea are readily obtained through the entrance above!
The cafe-tearoom has the friendliest and plumpest sparrows you will ever find! * Paris is always packed with tourists, no wonder with so many cheap flights and plenty of budget accommodation in this wonderful compact city. However there is lots of space in parks, historic buildings and museums. There are so many places to visit, mainly on foot and metro, and always the camera on hand. * Paris, the capital of France, like any great city is packed with places of accommodation and tourist attractions to suit all budgets and cultural tastes * page updated Jan 15th 2007 * EMAIL Phil Brown * images-photographs-pictures-photos-webshots-views-snaps of the buildings, bridges, streets, squares and views of France © Dr W P Brown * Scenes from other cities in Europe: Dublin, Ireland * London, England * York, England for a quick pictorial visit! |
