13. Sacrė-Coeur and Montmartre Vineyard
The Romano-Byzantine styled Church of Sacre-Coeur on Montmartre Hill, viewed from the roof of Galeries Lafayette.
Sacre-Coeur in the day. The church was started in the 1870's and finished in 1914 (Phil Tidy, Molly O'Shea, Chris Tidy and Phil Brown).
Sacre-Coeur floodlit at night. Quite a stunning sight under the floodlights!
The only surviving vineyard left in Paris, set below the centre of the 'artistic' centre of Montmartre. A pleasant peaceful place away from the hub of the busy 'cafe-gallery-street artist' Montmartre. * Paris is always packed with tourists, no wonder with so many cheap flights and plenty of budget accommodation in this wonderful compact city. However there is lots of space in parks, historic buildings and museums. There are so many places to visit, mainly on foot and metro, and always the camera on hand. * Paris, the capital of France, like any great city is packed with places of accommodation and tourist attractions to suit all budgets and cultural tastes * page updated Jan 15th 2007 * EMAIL Phil Brown * images-photographs-pictures-photos-webshots-views-snaps of the buildings, bridges, streets, squares and views of France © Dr W P Brown * Scenes from other cities in Europe: Dublin, Ireland * London, England * York, England for a quick pictorial visit! |
