A Three Day Rail Trip from North Yorkshire to North West Scotland from the 'lowlands of England' to the 'Highlands of Scotland'
2. Inverness Train to Kyle of Lochalsh 3. Late Evening and Early Morning in the Kyle of Lochalsh 4. Walk in the Cuillin Mountains on the Isle of Skye 5. Return Rail Journey Kyle of Lochalsh-Inverness-Edinburgh The photographs of the wild Scottish Highlands were taken with a cheap digital camera, many through the railway carriage window! Despite this, I hope the six pages of photographs convey the wonderful railway trip holiday in Scotland I so much enjoyed. I must travel on the Mallaig line soon! * Scotland is traversed by some of the most scenic railway lines any tourist can undertake in the UK or even Europe? * Why more people, 'the tourists' on holiday, do not forsake their cars and take to the 'train line' for a day I can't explain. But, I hope these humble photographs, mostly taken through the railway carriage window, will inspire more people to make the trip on Scottish trains up through the lowlands and on to the beautiful Highlands of Scotland. * * Page updated April 22nd 2008, EMAIL Phil Brown * * digital images-photographs-pictures-photos-webshots-views-snaps-snaphots-scenes-pics-blogs © Dr W P Brown 2007 * If you are interested in using any of the photographs email me, but any image used must involve permission and acknowledgement * Above left, the The ScotRail Edinburgh to Inverness train waiting below the Scott Monument.
