St Anne's RC Cathedral, Leeds: The Cathedral Church of St Anne is the Cathedral of the Catholic Bishop of Leeds in Cookridge Street. It was designed in the 'Arts and Crafts' style by JH Eastwood (architect) and SK Greenslade (designer). The foundation stone was laid in 1902 and the building opened in 1908 replacing an the earlier original Cathedral of 1838. It is a building well worth visiting from an architecture point of view and a magnificent setting when attending the Cathedral's church services.
St Anne's RC Cathedral, Leeds: The design of this fine building is in the Arts and Crafts Gothic style with a north tower (just seen) with a pyramid roof.
St Anne's RC Cathedral, Leeds: Looking east down the main body of the fine stonework of the wide nave towards the Lady Chapel (= chancel) and high altar. On either side are the north and south aisle arcades of finely wrought majestic arches.
St Anne's RC Cathedral, Leeds: Thee roof of the nave is constructed from pointed tunnel-vaulted timbers. The supporting stonework is simple, yet elegant. Although much of the stonework is simple, there are six fine carved figures incorporated into the chancel arch representing five saints and the face of Christ.

St Anne's RC Cathedral, Leeds: In the north aisle is 'The Pieta' modelled on Michelangelo's Pieta in St Peter's, Rome and was carved in marble by Boulton of Cheltenham in 1913 as a memorial to two former administrators of the church.
St Anne's RC Cathedral, Leeds: Statue of the virgin Mary and the ornate decoration of the Reredos of the high altar. A splendid setting for mass on Sunday or any other church service in the Cathedral.
