The original church was built in 1185 by the Knights Templar, an order founded to protect pilgrims on their pilgrimage journey to Jerusalem

Guild Church of St Dunstan-in-the-West: The church occupies a narrow slot onto the street but does open out when you get inside. There was a church here in medieval times, but the present church was built in ?

Guild Church of St Dunstan-in-the-West: The great clock to the right of the church tower is part of the much earlier clock temple erected by the parishioners in thanks for escaping the Great Fire of London. Under the 'alcove' are Gog and Magog in guild loincloths, nod their heads and clang the bells on the hour.
