You can park on the side of the road or in a parking space just further down from where this photograph was taken (OS 628 966), where two footpaths start, one heads north-west and one heads west, both end up on the track known as Westside Road on Rudland Rigg.

A handsome cairn on Shaw Ridge.

Heading parallel to Westside Road along Shaw Ridge before heading up to the ridge of Rudland Rigg.

The stone trod continues over an old stone slab bridge and then you head up towards Spout House ....

... and walk south-west up the road back to the start.
