8. Riccal Dale - Spring, Summer and Autumn walking, especially a spring walk amongst the bluebells

Walking in Riccal Dale: One approach to a circular walk in Riccal Dale is to start from the village of Pockley with its pretty thatched houses.

Walking in Riccal Dale: The pictures speak for themselves. Riccaldale has the greatest display of bluebell flowers I've ever seen.

Walking in Riccal Dale: Riccal Dale is just north of the A170 Helmsley-Pickering road, about 2 miles east of Helmsley. Need an OS map to find it.

Walking in Riccal Dale: BUT there is much more to Riccal Dale than the bluebells. It is a great place for many wild flowers and further up Riccal dale there are great views south back down the Dale and north in the direction of Bransdale.
