59. Climbing Pen-y-ghent from Horton-in-Ribblesdale

Pen-y-ghent is one of the mountains of the 'Three Peaks Challenge",

along with Ingleborough and Whernside.

The Pen-y-ghent Cafe in Horton-in-Ribblesdale

The car park in Horton-in-Ribblesdale, adequate car parking available in the village and a distant view of Pen-y-ghent.

We chose the anti-clockwise route which is clearly seen and followed on the OS OL2 Explorer map.

There is a clear path up to Pen-y-ghent.

This is a good track most of the way up to the summit of Pen-y-ghent.
