SCENES of The City of PARIS
10. The Eiffel Tower, the Icon of
Paris
The Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 to impress visitors to the 1889 Universal Exhibition in Paris. The top third level is 274m (899 ft) above ground level. Approaching the Eiffel Tower to start queuing at 4pm (1600 hr) before eventually ascending in the lifts. The floodlit Eiffel Tower, after 'manual' descent, to view it all lit up at 8.30pm (2030 hr).
Descending by the 'stairs' and admiring the floodlit pig-iron girders of the Eiffel Tower carefully to not miss a step while admiring the great structure!
We finally reached the top of the Eiffel Tower at 8pm! (2000 hr) to look down at the bright lights of Paris, the River Seine, the illuminated Passerelle Bridge and Arc de Triomephe at the top left.
The Arc de Triomephe, a bit closer and at ground level!
