Tewkesbury is market town in Gloucestershire, situated at the confluence of the Rivers Severn and Avon.

It is a lovely old medieval town, particularly in the streets around the Abbey and the River Avon.

Tewkesbury has many fine old medieval timber-framed and Georgian buildings to admire.

Its a great place to walk around, full of interesting shops and buildings and river trips on the Avon.

The Bell Hotel pub, 52 Church Street, on the corner of Mill Street and Church Street, Tewkesbury

It is a handsome, mainly timber-framed building with a date of 1696 on a plaster panel above the porch entrance, significant extensions in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The wonderful timber-framed building of the Merchant's House in Tewkesbury is a beautifully restored and refurbished 15th century Tudor shop and home.

The Merchant's House, 41 Church Street, also houses the John Moores Countryside museum.

No 73 The Abbot's Table Cafe in Theocsbury, 73 Church Street (across from entrance to Abbey), on right entrance to Smith's Court in Tewkesbury.

The cafe occupies, what is probably an early to mid 16th century timber-framed building, heavily restored in the 20th century.

The Abbot's Table is across from the likely site of the first recorded Fair held in Tewkesbury, granted by King John in 1199.

On the left No 81, Church Street, the brick house occupied by Gainsborough House Antiques.

On the right, a pair of timber-framed houses, No 82 and 83 Craik House dating from the 15th,-16th and wing additions in the 17th century, right entrance to Turner's Court, Tewkesbury.

Church Street - left narrow brick No 7 Boutique, 16th century house with a brick front and shop front from the early 19th century.

The Berkeley Arms (Wadworth), No 8 Church Street, and Berkeley Gifts, Tewkesbury. The Berkeley Arms has its origins as a timber-framed building dating from the late 15th or early 16th centuries, with some ~1600 and 18th century additions.

The Abbey Jewellers with the Cross House Tavern, The Cross, 107 and 108 Church Street, Tewkesbury.

The Cross Hose originally dates from the 15th century, but substantially altered in the Tudor and Stuart periods (a storey added in the 17th century) and restored in c. 1865 by Thomas Collins, a local builder and restorer.

No 1 Tolsey Lane, down the alley from the Cross House Tavern in Tewkesbury.

Down the road curving to the right from Cross House is Tolsey House,  the opening called Priors Alley, and on the right, The Tolsey Cottage, more black and white timber-framed houses on Tolsey Lane in Tewkesbury.

On the street down to the River Avon and ice cream cottage, on the right, on he corner is 91 Church Street, a timber-framed building on the corner dating from the early 17th century

The Ice Cream Cottage at Crumpets, No 6 (owl sign), St Mary's Lane, Tewkesbury. A late 16th or early 17th century timber-framed building.

No 1 and 2 Mill Bank house, origin - late 15th or early 16th century timber-framed houses, on the right is the brick Abbey Mill Cottages down by the River Avon in Tewkesbury.

Abbey Mill, Mill Street, a water mill from 1793 - rebuild of the 1190 medieval mill, was a restaurant and banqueting rooms, now empty?

There has been a mill here from 12th century, in fact it was the principal mill for Tewkesbury Abbey.

River Avon, the Mill leat, Healings flour mill and warehouses by the Tewkesbury Marina, narrow boat trips available and a fine sculpture of a cat!

As we were waiting for our coach a cavalcade of small steam traction engines came along, all turning down Gander Lane towards the car park.

On the left FAIZEY FAMILY HAULAGE and PLANT steam traction engine called [CHARLOTTE] passing the Abbot's Table Cafe, right vehicle ?

On the left a small blue steam traction engine called [MAUD], I couldn't id the right vehicle?
