Brantwood is the former house of John Ruskin, a famous Victorian who was an important figure of 19th century art. John Ruskin was a cultural theorist, passionate critic of society, writer, artist, art critic and social reformer.

John Ruskin spent the last 28 years of his life at Brantwood arring here first in 1872.

The Jumping Jenny Coffee House and Licensed Restaurant, the cafe of Brantwood House in the old stables, your refreshment is accompanied by an old rowing boat, coach and views over Coniston Water.
