(b) Grace Darling Museum, Bamburgh

The lifeboat used in the daring rescue of 1838 when Grace Darling and her father, William Darling,  rescued nine people from the wreck of the 'Forfarshire' in a strong gale and thick fog, after the vessel had run aground on Harcar Rock. Grace Darling became a greatly romanticised heroine which is not difficult to detect in the Grace Darling Museum, Bamburgh\!

In Grace Darling Museum, Bamburgh is the tombstone of Grace Darling's father William Darling.
