3. Around the Carolinum University, Oriel Window, Estates Theatre

On the right (across from the Estates Theatre) is the Carolinum, the centre of the University founded by Charles IV in 1348. Very little of the original building survives but on the right is a more detailed picture of the 'fragment' of Gothic architecture from the old University in the form of a fine oriel window beautifully carved stonework.

The Fruit Market (Ovocny trh)

The portal of the House of the Two Golden Bears. The present Renaissance building was constructed from two medieval houses in 1567 and this portal added in 1590. Above the building is a date 1475.
