 Useful and Interesting Chemistry web sites

 The first section lists particularly good and interesting chemistry web magazines with regularly changing content - generally no good for revision but excellent for a 'chemical education'

• www.chemicalelements.com/index.html another very good Periodic Table site, can display with name, atomic number, relative atomic mass, electron arrangement or melting/boiling point also provides information on the 109 named elements plus elements 110 - 112.

• www.bristol.ac.uk/Depts/Chemistry/MOTM/silly/sillymols.htm not always sure what to make of this site! BUT IT IS AN ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT CHEMISTRY SITE !!!!

• www.ScienceMaster.com This is also a really brilliant link to an endless variety of interesting science including plenty of chemistry

• www.101science.com/Chemistry.htm This is more revision orientated but also a good link to an endless variety of interesting chemistry

• http://chemistry.about.com A really interesting site packed with CHEMISTRY and general science links eg geology, dead easy to sign up for frequent emails.

• http://visibleearth.nasa.gov/ Lots of links to super pictures etc. etc.

• An interactive online resource which covers titrations in practice calculations, it is very easy to follow there is not much online for chemistry practicals. The address is  http://www.labskills.co.uk/free-resources.php

• www.chemguide.co.uk Jim Clark's profuse and brilliant notes on advanced level chemistry

• The charity called The Brightside Trust at www.thebrightsidetrust.org runs an e-mentoring projects to encourage young people who want to study specific subjects at university. The library for our chemistry project contains a lot of useful information about careers, interesting experiments/discoveries, and news items that are constantly updated.

• The publishers Collins offer free downloads as well as their textbook publications etc.
