15. Fire and Brimstone! Old Glory and the Dracula Experience
"Old Glory" is double geared steam powered Sentinel No 8590 built in 1931 and has been rebuilt-restored as a steam bus.
She (registration number GT 2827) is called "Elizabeth" and as she trundles round Whitby the whistle-hooter can be heard from Sandsend to Robin Hood's Bay!
BUT it can't match a real steam train in Whitby! More on Steam trains and Whitby
The Dracula Experience is the latest commercialisation of the Bram Stoker novel ...
... and it is no coincidence that the 'Dracula Experience' is directly opposite St Mary's churchyard on the opposite side of the river on the east cliff top!
