We Dig Archaeology Malta 1. The Ggantija temple complex near Xaghra on the island of Gozo This prehistoric archaeological Neolithic temple complex is 5000 years old and possibly the oldest free standing structures in the world pre-dating Stonehenge and the pyramids of the Pharaohs of Egypt.
The thousands of years of erosion of the honey coloured limestone is very evident!
Some of the fine stonework typical of the ancient Maltese temples (a bit pre-Celtic top-right?).
