Scampston is a small quiet village a few miles north of the busy A64 main road from Pickering to Scarborough. It is not too far north of York City in a peaceful and pleasant landscape of farmland. There are some pretty red-brick cottages and the fine little church of St Martin. There is also the tempting produce of a farmhouse bakery across from the red telephone box!
