Saltburn-by-the-sea has become quite a spot for surfers these days and has always been popular for beach walking with good views of the cliffs and sea. Real Meals Delicatessen and Catering Service in Station Street offers freshly made takeaway sandwiches, or you can sit outside for your refreshments and there are lots of other delicious things to eat too!

Just across the road from Saltburn Station is the Stonehouse Bakery for freshly baked 'goodies' next to the Saltburn Clipper traditional fish and chips. All in all, after a bracing sea walk there is no problem in finding sources of 'refreshment' in Saltburn.

The Signals Bistro is next to the station entrance, as the name suggests, a good watering hole for an 'uplifting' coffee after ascending from the pier!

Rapp's Cafe, 'continental style', is in Milton Street as you head down towards the old Zetland Hotel (now converted to flats) from the station and main shopping centre in Station Square before turning left down to the beach.
