The Castleton
Tea Rooms, Castleton, North Yorkshire, England. Plenty of good food,
friendly service, the adjacent pretty Primrose Hill, one of
the oldest parts of Castleton, and much good
walking in nearby Danby Dale, Westerdale and
Commondale on the
North York
Moors. |

The Downe Arms
Hotel,
next to the post office in Castleton village, North Yorkshire, also offers a good 'warmly' served pub grub after
watching a summer cricket game at the most
picturesque set ground, or, winter walking in the
Castleton-Danby Park Wood of downy (downey) birch trees. The
Eskdale Inn (below) was the original station hotel in the
days of steam (bottom right - 75029 pulling out of Castleton Station
over the road bridge above the Eskdale). |
