Convenient parking at the Chop Gate Village Hall car-park in Bilsdale on the B1257 Helmsley-Stokesley road.

Picnic table and toilet facilities available too!

Passing the Buck Inn on the way up the track of Cold Moor Lane

The lower stretch of Cold Moor Lane is quite a well used sunken lane, no doubt quite ancient in origin?

Looking back down to Chop Gate in Bilsdale

Looking north towards Cold Moor - you can just faintly see the peak of Roseberry Topping

Looking west from the middle of Cold Moor towards Cringle Moor and Cringle Moor Plantation

The cairn on the top of Cold Moor and the track that continues north to the edge of the moors.

Cringle Moor and plantation, on the right the Cleveland plain - actually in North Yorkshire!

Looking east from the northern edge of Cold Moor towards the Wainstones and Hasty bank.

The track heading west towards Cringle Moor, part of the Cleveland Way

The plaque in memorial to Alec Falconer (1884-1968), in memory of a rambler!

View from Cringle Moor, the hill of Roseberry Topping in the centre.

The western (above) and eastern (below) views from the 'Alec Falconer' stone seat.

After Cringle Moor we headed south, passing the Lords Stones Cafe! at the top of Carlton Bank.

We then headed south over most of the length of Bilsdale West Moor and passing Brian's Pond in the process.

We then headed east down the track towards Mill Lane and Raisdale Mill ...

... passing down the 'Green Lane' ...

... which becomes quite a 'sunken lane'

Back to the Buck Inn, a good pub I gather, to visit for refreshment after a good walk in Bilsdale.
