1. First walk-about in Paris in the Plas de Vosges (Place Royale)
A little refreshment in The Marais before exploring the sights of Paris!
Walking under the beautiful stone arched arcade around the Place des Vosges.
The Place des Voges is the oldest large square in Paris built around 1609 with grand symmetrical houses of the aristocracy all round the central open square. The central building is the Queen's Pavilion.
The Hotel de Sully can be accessed from the south-west corner of Plas des Vosges and was built for a notorious renaissance gambler! * Paris is always packed with tourists, no wonder with so many cheap flights and plenty of budget accommodation in this wonderful compact city. However there is lots of space in parks, historic buildings and museums. There are so many places to visit, mainly on foot and metro, and always the camera on hand. * Paris, the capital of France, like any great city is packed with places of accommodation and tourist attractions to suit all budgets and cultural tastes * page updated Jan 15th 2007 * EMAIL Phil Brown * images-photographs-pictures-photos-webshots-views-snaps of the buildings, bridges, streets, squares and views of France © Dr W P Brown * Scenes from other cities in Europe: Dublin, Ireland * London, England * York, England for a quick pictorial visit! |
