Snapshots of the City of London 7. A stroll down Whitehall to Westminster Bridge and Big Ben
Starting at Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square, you can then head down Whitehall turning left at Parliament Square to head for the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Westminster Bridge.

The war memorials (i) to women (left) and (ii) Edward Lutyens' Cenotaph built of Portland stone (right) which is inscribed simply with the words 'The Glorious Dead' in memory of soldiers lost in World War I. The Royal Guards were lining Whitehall because the Queen Elizabeth II ('the Queen') had passed by to open a new session of Parliament (November 2007).

The River Thames and the big wheel of the 'London Eye', looking north from Westminster Bridge towards Hungerford Bridge. On the left is one of the many landing stages and boats that ferry tourists or commuters up and down the River Thames.
