Lastingham, Rosedale, Farndale, Hutton-le-Hole and Bransdale INDEX 8. The Farndale Show
8. The Farndale Show The Farndale show is held every August Bank Holiday Monday and what a beautiful setting for the show so I'll let the pictures taken on August 31st 2009 speak for themselves, and hopefully again in 2010.
Farndale Showfield, stunning views from the show field of the lovely dale of Farndale.
Young stockmen and stockwomen being judged on their efforts in preparing livestock for showing, they await the final results!
Lots of horse and pony sports events to enter in.
This is where it all begins for the next generation of show jumpers!
Lots of vegetables and sheeps wool in the various show classes.
Somebody is not very interested in the ponies!
Some very young pony riders are given a hand.
Black Huacaya and White Suri Alpacas!
More cattle judging - young heifers?.
The hour of reckoning - the final decisions - the final results!
The cattle being prepared for, or resting from, the arduous duty of showing off!
Lots of flowers and other plants for sale, plus the bouncy chute? castle? for the kids - all very colourful.
Its those Alpacas again! They don't seem to mind the weather on the North York Moors!
The 'showing' of the ponies and riders.
Back in the big tent, all the judging of the ducks, hens, ferrets, pigeons etc. has finally finished.
A lone pony and trap - well done madam!
A splendid row of vintage tractors.
All well looked after and cherished - makes you feel guilty!
More birds!
Wonderful display of flowers in innumerable classes!
There was a lovely flower arranging display in St Mary's Church, next to the showfield.
The Victorian stained glass window is as colourful as the flower arrangements.
Below are lots of quick snapshots, literally, and metaphorically, of a good day out at the August Bank Holiday Monday Farndale Show.
