Bury Transport Museum: General view of the display area where you can get close up to the beautifully restored vehicles ranging from cars, coaches, buses, tractors and traction engines.

Another general view of the display area from the education suite that schools can use. The Bury Transport Museum has attempted, and very successfully, collected together as many exhibits as possible that actually relate to transport and industry in the local area.

Left (and below): The Reversible Horse Tram L 53 built in 1880, worked in the Stockport, Levenshulme and Heat Chapel areas of Greater Manchester in the late 19th century. It was built by the Manchester Carriage and Tramways Company to a design that allowed the passenger carriage to be rotated through 180o by the horse so that the whole tram did not have to go round a track loop to go back in the opposite direction.

Right: The Leyland Atlantean PDR2 double-decker bus, service fleet number 6809 built for the Bolton Corporation Transport Department in 1971, built by Leyland Motors and the East Lancashire Coachbuilders. It worked on the busiest routes around Bolton and Bury until 1985 and could seat up to 86 people.
