10. Trip to Inishbofin Island off the coast of Connemara, Co. Galway
The sheep arriving Cleggan harbour from Inishbofin. There are fairly regular boats to Inishbofin from Cleggan harbour.
Approaching Inishbofin Island, off the Atlantic Coast of Connemara, Co. Galway and a good day and way to celebrate Phil and Molly's 31st wedding anniversary!
A white sandy beach on Inishbofin, looking landward to the Hills and Mountains of Connemara. It is an island of peaceful fertile green fields and sandy beaches with the odd coastal rocky bit on the 'open' Atlantic side. You can easily walk around it in one day still have time to get the boat back.
Walking around Inishbofin Island in a day and few people around.
The highly weathered and 'battered' west (and nothing but) the Atlantic coast of Inishbofin Island, a complete contrast to the sandy beached sheltered eastern side and Connemara mountain backdrop, giving a greater 'wild island' feel to the walk. * Glorious West of Ireland for good walking, family or mini-break holidays and something for every tourist visiting this beautiful and friendly country. Endless scenery and attractions and the hospitality and craic is just great with lots of accommodation and places to stay to suit all budgets. * Selected Irish holiday views * Selected 'tourist' views of Dublin * Pictures-notes of places to visit and buildings to see in Dublin * updated Oct 31st 2007 * EMAIL Phil Brown * Irish images-photographs-pictures-webshots-photos-scenic views of our Irish car and walking tours © Dr W P Brown * |
