8. Riccal Dale - a walk amongst the bluebells The pictures speak for themselves. Riccal dale has the greatest display of bluebell flowers I've ever seen. Riccal Dale is just north of the A170 Helmsley-Pickering road, about 2 miles east of Helmsley. Need an OS map to find it.
Bluebell watching!
The Northern landscape artist Peter M. Hicks working in Riccal Dale, a great source of inspiration.
BUT there is much more to Riccal Dale than the bluebells. It is a great place for many wild flowers and further up Riccal dale there are great views south back down the Dale and north in the direction of Bransdale.
Views at the north end of Riccal dale.
Bransdale in the far distance.
There is a multitude of wild flowers throughout Riccal dale. * The Ryedale District and environs is a great area of North Yorkshire for walking holidays on the North York Moors and visiting the many towns and villages with their historic buildings including the many historic churches for the tourist to take in this part of Northern England * * page updated Aug 28th 2007 * EMAIL Phil Brown * * views-scenes-images-photographs-pictures-photos-webshots © Dr W P Brown * |
