 Location 06a: Battersby (ex
Junction!) Station
with the dark outline of the Cleveland Hills in the background. It was
once called Battersby Junction because the railway went on in the
direction of the hills to a steep incline at Bank Top where wagons were hauled
up to join up with the railway that went right across the top of the
moors to the Ironstone mines in Rosedale to feed the hungry blast
furnaces of the Middlesbrough-Redcar-Teesside iron works.
