38. Conclusion of the Malhamdale walk and then off to Skipton the next day as the weather changed drastically!

Some of the attractive grey limestone cottages in Airton Village. Ellis Cottage on the left with the old dovecots on it is dated 1696 (16 EWA 96).
The River at Airton looking south on the Pennine Way on the east bank and a most beautiful evening to end the walk back in Airton.
The weather was a bit wet and grey the next day so we headed for Skipton Town.

Above are parts of the Craven Museum and Gallery in the Town Hall (below left) and (below right) the entrance to Skipton Castle, one of the best preserved and most complete medieval castles in England.
The medieval Holy Trinity Church of Skipton. The tower was restored in the 1650's after suffering damage in the Civil War.
The elaborately carved font cover and the finely carved beautiful oak screens dating from the mid 16th century. The stone carved font itself is 700 years old and dates from the 1300's when the present church dates from.
The Sedillia in the Church and a 'damp' shopping street down in the town.
