St Andrew's Church, Dent is essentially a 15th century structure but with some earlier work.

The Norman font and 17th century wooden cover, a piscina and a desk from the old and historic Dent Grammar School.

The Norman font and 17th century wooden cover, a piscina and a desk from the old and historic Dent Grammar School. A piscina was a washing place for the Mass or Communion vessels with a drain so that the water flowed out onto the consecrated ground of the churchyard.

 

Three south windows hold memorial stained glass to the Sedgwick family - middle one  the mighty rock in Main Street, commemorate the life and work of Adam Sedgwick (1785-1873) the great and famous pioneering geologist and Professor of Geology at Cambridge University.
