9. Three different views of Gordale Scar after heavy rain!
View of Gordale Scar from above, not surprisingly, a major tourist attraction of the Yorkshire Dales.
Walking back down to view the 'entrance' to Gordale Scar.
Closer view of Gordale Scar and the waterfall. All the result of thousands of years of running water eroding the limestone to eventually carve out the spectacular gorge. (see page 13 walk over to Malham Cove) * The Yorkshire Dales National Park in North Yorkshire and East Cumbria and the North Pennines form a wonderful part of Northern England to visit for walking or car touring holidays. The scenery is magnificent and the countryside, villages and towns rarely seem overcrowded and the people always friendly. There is lots to see and do and plenty of accommodation available from hostels, hotels, bed and breakfast, holiday cottages etc. whether for weeks or a weekend mini-break when holidaying near Gordale, North Yorkshire. * page updated April 13th 2008 * EMAIL Phil Brown * Images-photographs-pictures-photos-webshots of walking in Gordale Scar © Dr W P Brown * |
