The lovely village of Dent in Dentdale. A gem in a gem!
After climbing up out of the Dent village you walk through several fields with their typical 'Dales barn'.
On the 'Ocky' the ancient walled green lane above and south of Dent village. The phrase 'Occupational Road' to give the 'Ocky' its full name refers to the time when the moorland was 'reclaimed or 'occupied' for the first time.
Near, and below, Combe Scar looking across to the Howgills in the distance.
The lovely old stone house at Tofts.
Further views across to the Howgill Fells (see pages 26 and 27). * Page updated Oct 6th 2008 * EMAIL Phil Brown * digital images snapshots photographs pictures views scenes views pics photos snaps webshots of walks and interesting places to visit and stay © Phil Brown docspics 2008 * www.docbrown.info/docspics |
