11. Guisborough Town Guisborough is a friendly busy bustling and growing historic market town. There are lots of new housing developments going on and looks, and is, a much more prosperous town than it used to be thirty years when we first moved into the area.
The remains of the east end of the 12th century Augustinian Gisborough Priory has become the icon of Guisborough Town, viewed from the graveyard of St Nicholas Church (see below).

The Anglican Parish Church of St Nicholas, Guisborough, is situated near the ruins of the Priory. Although medieval in origin, much of the present church in terms of size, style and appearance is due to the rebuilding-renovating of the church from 1903-1908 under the direction of the architect Temple Moore.
A few sections of the original medieval stained glass survive in St Nicholas Church, Guisborough.
