4. Marske by the Sea Village


A busy village near the North Sea.

All that remains of the medieval church of St. Germain near the seafront at the eastern end of Marske village is the tower (rebuilt in 1821)

All that remains of the medieval church of St. Germain near the seafront at the eastern end of Marske village is the tower (rebuilt in 1821). The parishioners are close by, but no church!

 

The tower seems lonely but remains surrounded by many deceased parishioners!

St Mark's Church in Marske. Built in 1865-1867 in an early English style.

St Mark's Church in Marske. Built in 1865-1867 in an early English style. It has a Norman font from the Medieval of church St Germain which stood at the eastern end of the village (only the tower remains, see above).

A stone building in Marske, on the right, just off the main street down into the Marske centre round-about.  It has been used and known as 'The Annexe' for Errington Primary School and has been/now? used by the Girl Guides. Current use?
